For the past few years, Canada has been suffering from a labor shortage impacting all its provinces, and Quebec is one of the most severely affected regions. Unfortunately, this lack of resources has major impacts on businesses and is an obstacle for 44% of companies according to Statistics Canada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, the 2020 pandemic has led to labor shortages in almost all employment sectors. A 60% increase in the number of vacant positions has been recorded, and because of this, computer specialists have become a rare commodity in Quebec.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To adapt to the situation, many companies have reconsidered their strategies and have opted for new solutions. One of the measures adopted by our company is the launch of a multifaceted recruitment campaign to hire internationally called Astek Canada Days. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Astek Canada Days: what is it about?<\/strong>\u3164<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Astek Canada Days is a recruitment mission set up by Astek Canada in 2017. It is deployed four times a year to recruit foreign professionals who want to settle in Canada. During this campaign, one of our recruitment team\u2019s travels to France in search of new IT talents. The main missions of the Astek Canada Days are offering on-site interviews to candidates, organizing job-dating, explaining the recruitment and immigration process as well as answering all the candidates\u2019 questions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This campaign allows us to primarily enrich diversity in our workplace and build a better brand identity, to find employees with a rare expertise in Quebec, and above all, to give as much information as possible about Astek Canada to expand our network and the company <\/em><\/p>\nNicolaas Loerakker – Vice-President Talent Acquisition<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Once an agreement is confirmed between the company and the candidate, Astek Canada\u2019s International Mobility team is responsible for taking care of all immigration procedures and offers complete support before, during and after the new employee\u2019s installation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our next edition will be at the end of November, and for the first time since the launch of the campaign, our team will be in Brussels, Belgium to explore new opportunities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u275d Astek Canada Days is a very important campaign for Astek Canada, it allowed us to recruit several resources in IT. Last September, we had the chance to meet some excellent candidates that we look forward to welcoming in the coming months here in Canada.
